CARPINTERIA, CA—Team Lucchese kicked off their summer season with the 2019 Belmond El Encanto Robert Skene Trophy at the Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club over the last two weeks. While a championship is always the goal, their were some encouraging moments despite not hoisting the trophy as repeat champions this past weekend.

Lucchese (1-1) opened up the tournament with a thrilling OT win over Santa Clara (0-2), 15-14. With a chance to meet FMB Too! for the championship, Lucchese fell to runner-up, 9-7.

Team Lucchese welcomes back three of it's core players: Team owner John Muse, Team Captain Jeff Hall, and seasoned veteran Facundo Obregon. New to the fold is Jorge Cernada, Jr. who had a great tournament overall. Lucchese looks to bounce back this next week at the Farmer's & Merchants Bank America Cup with a shot at the Robert Skene Champions, FMB Too!, in the opening game. There's plenty to be excited about for this summer's team at Lucchese.
